5 Great Uses For Argan Oil

Argan oil has been blowing up in all aspects of the beauty industry in recent years. It’s safe to say that many of us have heard of its great benefits and effects. Often described as “liquid gold”, argan oil works to moisturize, protect, heal, nourish, and restore. The natural product is rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins E and F. In other words, it’s a super-product!

When applied to skin, the fatty acids and the lack of cholesterol allow the oil to soak into the skin and moisturize without a greasy or heavy feel. Plus, the high dose of Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant to protect the skin from free radicals.

For those who suffer from skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema, argan oil may help to reduce inflammation and has even been coined a natural remedy for certain skin problems! In addition to offering great protection, the oil may improve elasticity by stimulating the renewal of skin cells–in turn, potentially reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and even stretch marks!

So, what else can you do with argan oil besides applying it to your skin? Using the oil straight from the bottle will provide the best results, but if you’re the type of beauty-fanatic who gets bored of the same routine, change it up!

Add a few drops to your foundation to create a lighter consistency and more of a sheer coverage, ideal for hot temperatures.

For a relaxing night in, mix with your favorite essential oils for a homemade massage oil. We like to use lavender oil because of the calming effect. Add a few drops of the homemade oil cocktail to your bath water and soak for moisturized, supple skin.

During the colder months, rub the oil onto rough elbows and knees to combat cracking and dryness.

Dab it onto your lips for ultimate shine and moisture.

Argan oil is great for your hair as well, allowing for a completely natural and effective hair mask when combined with half of an avocado. Using a bowl or blender, mash the avocado until it’s smooth. Then, mix in half a cup of argan oil. Coat your tresses from root to end with the mask, leave on for 20 minutes, and rinse with shampoo. This process will provide the natural sheen and luster that gives you that “just-stepped-out-of-the-salon” look.

Take the boredom out of your beauty routine by creating multiple uses with your argan oil. This one product offers countless uses; so get creative!
